“Vaccinating is protecting; vaccinating well is saving lives.” This principle was at the heart of the workshop that brought together all the staff of the Ebolowa International Vaccination Center (CVI-E) and community health workers from the South Region on Monday, August 4, 2026. Held in the meeting room of the Regional Delegation of Public Health, this capacity-building workshop on best vaccination practices laid the groundwork for a new era for this strategic institution. Chaired by Dr. Alima Carolle, Head of the CVI-E, the workshop aimed to strengthen the practical and organizational skills of the teams to ensure services meet national and international standards. It also sought to revitalize the center’s appeal and performance in the face of public health challenges where vaccination remains one of the most effective defenses against preventable diseases.
During the discussions, Dr. Alima Carolle emphasized a fundamental point: the need for better communication and increased awareness about the existence and activities of the CVI-E. « Our center has all the necessary skills and equipment to provide quality services. The problem is that the public needs to know about it. » This new approach aims to improve vaccine management, raise the quality of services, and restore user confidence.
The work addressed several strategic areas: vaccine administration techniques, cold chain management, adherence to safety protocols, and patient reception. Community health workers, key liaisons on the ground, were trained in community awareness and mobilization techniques to bring healthcare services closer to the most remote populations.
The Ebolowa Vaccination and Immunization Center (CVI-E), a leading facility in the South Region, plays a crucial role in vaccination coverage and epidemic prevention. This workshop marks a decisive step in its modernization and
strengthening its local presence. At the end of this training, participants leave with concrete tools to improve their daily practices and enhance the impact of their actions on public health. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the health system in the South Region. By focusing on continuing education and community engagement, the Ebolowa CVI-E is positioning itself as a key player in vaccination prevention in Cameroon.
