More than 200 general surgeries and hundreds of specialized treatments have been carried out in Yagoua as part of Health Promotion 2026. A dynamic welcomed by the health authorities and driven by an exemplary mobilization of the teams.

The national Health Promotion 2026 campaign, which aims to bring specialized care closer to populations across several regions of Cameroon, has recorded one of its most significant results in Yagoua. The local Regional Annex Hospital distinguished itself with a mobilization deemed exceptional by the supervisory bodies.

A dynamic carried out on several levels

This achievement is due to the leadership of Dr. Saïd Ahmed, director of the Yagoua Regional Annex Hospital, who successfully united local teams around the campaign’s objectives. His efforts benefited from broad institutional support, including contributions from the director of the Bafoussam Regional Hospital Center (CHR), the Adamaoua Regional Delegate for Public Health, and the director of the Ayos Regional Annex Hospital. This inter-regional coordination demonstrates a commitment to pooling expertise to maximize the campaign’s impact on the ground.

The entire system was placed under the supervision of Inspector General Boukar Kela and Mr. Aboubakary Abba, whose role was to evaluate the conduct of operations and ensure the quality of patient care.

A quantified assessment that reflects the scale of the mobilization

The figures recorded in Yagoua demonstrate the scale of the effort deployed. More than 200 general surgery cases were treated, illustrating the extensive management of conditions requiring surgical intervention. The ophthalmological sector was also significant, with nearly one hundred procedures performed, enabling many patients

to regain or preserve their sight.

Dentistry also showed a strong performance, with around one hundred patients treated, while several cases involving gynecology and other medical specialties completed the picture. This diversity of interventions reflects a multidisciplinary approach to the campaign, designed to address a wide range of healthcare needs within the population.

Teams hard at work, patients relieved

Beyond the figures, it is the human commitment that stands out from this edition of Health Promotion 2026 in Yagoua. The mobilized medical and paramedical teams worked tirelessly to guarantee the continuity and quality of care throughout the campaign. This exemplary mobilization resulted in patients receiving care and relief, often after a sometimes long wait due to a lack of access to specialized care in their locality.

The experience in Yagoua could serve as a reference for the next stages of the campaign in other regions of the country, both in terms of the quality of institutional coordination and the concrete results obtained for the benefit of the people.
