This systemic overhaul aims to modernize customer relations, streamline the value chain and offer a more transparent and efficient public water service to Cameroonian citizens.

CAMWATER is launching its digital transformation through a workshop to ensure the integrative coherence of its new digital solutions and to strengthen capacities.

« Water is the source of life, data is now the new blood of its governance. » At the MUNDI Complex in Yaoundé, the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER) is no longer content to distribute a precious liquid: it is orchestrating the millimeter-precise convergence of its algorithms. At the heart of this transformation lies the ecosystem called WATERIS by CAMWATER, a digital architecture designed to break down the information silos that previously hindered service efficiency. The major challenge this week is to ensure seamless interoperability between eight technological solutions deployed to cover the entire value chain. WATERIS-METER and WATERIS-COMMERCIAL

now provide complete digitalization of the customer relationship, from remote meter reading to invoicing. In addition, resource management is secured by WATERIS-STOCK, while financial flows are optimized through WATERIS-PAY and WATERIS-INTEGRATION, enabling real-time accounting reconciliation. Finally, administrative governance and strategic management are strengthened by the WATERIS-GEC, WATERIS-MAIL, and WATERIS-DASHBOARD solutions.

The agenda for this workshop, structured with meticulous precision, reflects the General Management’s commitment to leaving no room for error. The first day laid the structural groundwork by defining the project scope and implementing collaborative tools such as WATERIS-MAIL. The second day, dedicated to the AFREETECH and MAVIANCE solutions, focused on a concrete demonstration of the integration between sales management and field operations. Wednesday, August 12th, will mark a crucial milestone with the review of logistical components, electronic payment solutions, and dashboards managed by DITRAD, ensuring a holistic view of performance.

The weekend will be dedicated to a complete immersion in business processes. Thursday, August 13th, will offer a full-scale simulation of the entire chain, from connection to final payment, through small group workshops. This approach, structured around two main areas, allows for the simultaneous exploration of the technical security of the infrastructure, data migration, and the adoption of new practices by branch agents. Friday, August 14th, the culmination of the week, will see the presentation of the work and the consolidation of a robust national deployment plan, marking the conclusion of a seminar that transforms resistance to change into drivers of growth.

Beyond the technical achievement, this transformation marks a cultural shift for CAMWATER. By focusing on capacity building and cross-sector expertise with its partners, the company is equipping itself to achieve its ambitions. Digitalization, as envisioned at the MUNDI Complex, promises increased transparency, speed, and efficiency for Cameroonian citizens. Following this work, a more connected, more responsive, and resolutely future-oriented CAMWATER is poised to offer a modernized public water service that meets today’s demands.
