The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Eyenga Amour, Technical Advisor No. 1, representing the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie.
This official handover comes at the end of a process that began nearly two years ago within both institutions. The initiative mobilized management and staff around a common goal: to improve the organization of services, enhance the quality of care, and optimize patient management.
The certification covers several essential areas of hospital operations. The certified scope includes consultations, emergency services, diagnostic support, and surgery. It also extends to medical imaging, pediatric surgery, the laboratory, and the blood
bank.
The ceremony brought together the managers and staff of both institutions, representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, and the various stakeholders involved in the certification process. Bureau Veritas, the certification body, also participated in this formal event marking the culmination of the process.

Speaking at the event, the director of the Maroua Regional Hospital, Dr. Gérard Fetse Tama, praised the commitment of all the staff at both facilities.
