The 30th fire brigade group based in Garoua opened a rescue center in Bocklé, in the Garoua III district, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. This new infrastructure will strengthen the operational coverage of rescue services and improve the speed of interventions in this part of the city.

The light rain that fell for the occasion did not dampen activity. In Bocklé, the main town of the Garoua III district, the 30th Fire Brigade Group, based in Garoua, officially opened a new fire station. Around twenty firefighters, including Battalion Commander Mohamadou Yaya, head of the 30th Group, participated in the inauguration. The new station is an extension of the 301st Company of the Garoua Fire Station. Its location in Bocklé addresses the need to bring emergency services closer to the population. In the event of a fire, traffic accident, or any other

situation requiring urgent intervention, teams can now be mobilized from this forward operating base.

The choice of Bocklé was not insignificant. Located in a rapidly developing area, this part of the Garoua III district is home to many residents and users. The permanent presence of a fire station reduces response times and strengthens the capacity to respond to emergencies. Inside the station, the facilities have been designed to ensure the necessary conditions for the teams to function. The infrastructure includes a reception area, dormitories for non-commissioned officers and junior personnel, the station chief’s office, a kitchen, and restrooms.

The operation is also supported by vehicles. A fire engine and an ambulance have been deployed to the site. For Warrant Officer Kapsibé André, head of the Bocklé fire station, the teams are ready to assume their responsibilities. “We are ready and trained to carry out our missions at this station. We encourage the local population to cooperate with us. In the meantime, we will raise awareness among them, letting them know that there is now a fire station near them,” he stated.

Battalion Chief Mohamadou Yaya, Commander of the 30th Fire Brigade Group

The Bocklé rescue center was created in 2018 with the acquisition of vehicles for the national fire brigade since 2024. Today, we are here to inaugurate the Bocklé fire station. As you know, before, there was only one fire station covering the entire northern region, particularly the city of Garoua. Now, thanks to the opening of the Bocklé fire station, in the Garoua 3rd district, many needs of the local population and surrounding areas will be met.

From today, we will begin raising awareness among the population to tell them that we are already at the level of Garoua 3rd and whenever there is a request, we will be there to help the people and their property.
